Experience with Integrative Healing Techniques

I have over 20 years of personal experience utilizing complementary alternative medical treatments (integrative healing techniques) to reduce symptoms and treat conditions related to fibromyalgia. Through my own journey to wellness, I developed a passion for learning how to  combine integrative healing techniques within the contexts of my psychotherapy career in order to help facilitate holistic healing for those dealing with emotional and behavioral issues. I began to formally study various mind-body techniques in 2009 though the Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota and then participated in various trainings through other  professional organizations. I’m currently working on a certification in comprehensive energy psychology that combines my educational background as a mental health professional with energy healing techniques.

In 2009, I began incorporating integrative healing practices into my work with parents involved with Child Protection Services to reduce their stress level and increase coping skills. In 2012, I opened my own practice and began providing holistic mental health and energy therapy services. At a basic level, I've continued utilizings integrative techniques to help clients manage their stress. However, I also began working with hospital patients in hospice and palliative care providing energy therapy services to decrease their symptoms of anxiety, pain, and nausea. Since opening my own practice, I've primarily worked with client's experiencing chronic health issues and physical symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress.

Experience with Family Issues

I have several years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families involved with Child Protection Services or Family Court providing parenting assessments, parenting education, therapeutic supervised visitation, and co-parenting services. I have worked with families struggling with a variety of issues ranging from a general lack of parenting skills, using physical forms of punishment, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health issues, medical neglect, disabilities (physical and cognitive), significant forms of childhood abuse (physical and sexual), and the accidental death of a child.
